Reduce your Carbon Footprint!
The Green Passport Program has partnered with Sustainable Travel
International (STI) to give you, the study abroad student, the
opportunity to offset the carbon that you are generating by
traveling to and from your study abroad site. While offsetting our
carbon footprint is an important step to contributing to a decrease
in global warming it is, however, certainly not the only solution.
For example: Is it okay to buy a hummer with the thought that one
would just offset all of the emissions? Certainly not! Reducing our
emissions is the first step, so please read XXX to find out how to
do that.
HOWEVER, as a community of people traveling for the sake of
education and intercultural understanding, we have a significant
amount of power. If all students (and professionals working in the
field of international education) were to offset their
flight-generated carbon emissions, we could make a considerable
impact to projects supported by our donations. The Green Passport
Program would like to put forth the challenge to you to contribute
to the causes supported by the offsetting program managed by STI by
contributing below. We will make quarterly updates to this page so
that we can track how much carbon has collectively been offset and
how much money has been contributed to the projects
highlighted.
Thanks for your contributions and fly lightly!
