Please provide a brief description of what you will be studying or doing while abroad.
Students in this
course will meet six times during the Spring
semester to learn about the Guatemalan
sponsor and host and to begin to form a
tightly-knit team. Students will choose to
focus on one of the following: a water supply
or reforestation project, a coffee cooperative,
a school, or a clinic. Evenings and weekends
may include visits to Mayan ruins, local
markets, volcanoes and wildlife refuges.

I am the founder and a member of the Board of Directors of Agua del Pueblo, a non-profit technical assistance institution which has completed over 900 rural environmental sanitation projects. I am a professional environmental engineer. I have worked at the USEPA and Clean Sites, Inc, a non-profit environmental advocacy and mediation firm. I am the founding advisor of our Global Sustainability Club. I was the founding adviser of the Environmental Business Club at James Madison University.
