Hi, Stacey
Wish you World Wnvironment Day 2009. The theme for 2009 is "Your Planet Needs You-UNite to Combat Climate Change." This obviously focuses on people and nations combining to combat the ever-growing problem of climate change and the effects that come along with it.

MAKE A COMMITMENT ON THIS WED 2009 TOWARDS FOLLOWINGS

Ready to make change? From the list below, choose the changes you haven't yet made that you wish to commit to. By making these commitments you are helping to alter the way we consume resources, a key part of promoting a sustainable future for India. We will be sending you tips on how to achieve some of your commitments and a quarterly reminder to help
you make them permanent lifestyle changes.

 You will change all lights in my home CFLs and LEDs and encourage others to do the same.
 You will implement a solar hot water system in my home/office.
 Next time I purchase a car it will be a small and fuel-efficient option.
 YOU will cut my water usage by 5% each month for the next 6 months.
 You will cut my monthly electricity bill by 5% each month for the next 6 months.
 You will maintain a strictly vegetarian diet.
 You will actively seek out public transport or carpooling options over private vehicle use for my daily commutes.
 You will ensure that no appliances in my home or office are left on standby and are switched off from the wall or main switch.
 You will green my own home by planting native trees around it or buying indoor plants.
 You will recycle paper and ensure that I use both side of page when printing or writing.
 You will write monthly to my Member of Parliament asking them to develop and implement an environmental policy that helps mitigate greenhouse gases.
 You will request my Municipal council and building society to take efforts to green my neighborhood by implementing rainwater harvesting and other energy saving methods.
 You will personally educate my family about the dangers and solutions to Climate Change.
 You will be sure to buy locally grown produce as much as possible.
