Sharjah, Netherlands to collaborate in waste management

This weekend I came across an article discussing a proposed collaboration between the Emirate of Sharjah (where API's study abroad program in the UAE is offered) and the government of The Netherlands to improve Sharjah's recycling and waste management.

I applaud the UAE's recent and ongoing efforts to promote a more environmentally friendly and sustainable society (see recent posts on Sharjah recycling and Abu Dhabi green building). What do you think of these efforts?
