Hello Everyone!
My name is Rebecca, a resident of the Ecocentre, Institute of Permaculture and Ecovillas of the Cerrado. Our community live on a 25 hectare plot of land 5 kms from Pirenópolis, Brazil. This project has a ten year history of work, fun and transformation. We welcome many groups of varying ages, nationalities and backgrounds. We relish the human diversity that the Ecocentre attracts, whilst benefiting from the diversity which is offered so abundantly in nature.
When groups come to the Ecocentre, we form a community because not only do we grown individually, but also because transformation occurs together, as group. Every body who passes through the Ecocentre participates in its creation, through their own learning and influence.
I have been living here for 3 years, and the way that I describe life here is rich. The Ecocentre is a living example of how humans can have a positive and regenerative impact on their environment. This once degraded area now hosts a referential centre for sustainability. The Cerrado climate and diversity offers fruits, flavors, smells and experiences presenting natures' bounty and potential.
The human actions and interactions of the Ecocentre community, make us learn more about ourselves as humans on this planet. We live and work towards a common vision of hope, and we know that it is through the challenges that we see and feel true transformations, both internally and externally.
By sharing our experiences and learnings with one another we can form a community – and it can start here and now.
